19 Goals for '19
At the beginning of the year I made an arbitrary list of goals to complete this year. I would like to look back on them and see how many I completed.
Goodreads goal of 108
Last year I read a solid 101 books for my challenge of 100, so I decided to step it up a little. Keep it at an average of 9 books per month.
10 Classics
I read a few classics last year, and really loved them. I want to read more of them, and more diversely with some translated fiction, and international authors.
Read more books than I buy
I have a huge amount of books piled up that I haven't read yet, and I need to get through them before buying tons of new ones.
Start a blog
We'll see how far along this goes. But technically, whether I continue with it I did start a blog. We can check that goal off of the list.
Start writing reviews
I will start by writing them on here, and linking them in my Goodreads when I rate and finish a book.
Finish 3 Book Series
I have quite a few series that I am halfway through, so I want to get to finish them.
Reread 5 Books
I love to reread books, and honestly I do it a lot. This probably won't be a hard goal to accomplish for me.
Write a draft of a novel
Speaking of hard goals...
Read 25 books from TBR (bought before January 1st)
This is related to reading more books than I buy. I want to whittle down my physical TBR, making room for more books.
Finish book draft
This means to finish a draft of a novel that I've already started.
Read 3 books in french
I am trying to get a better grasp on french, so I think reading some beginner french books might help.
Read daily
Whether its one page, or one thousand pages, I just want to read.
Write at least 5/7 days a week
Writing everyday helps you get better, so I want to get into a consistent writing mood.
Keep up with my Reading Journal
I just put together a reading journal out of an old composition notebooks, just for basic reviews and thoughts on the books I'm reading. I want to be consistent with that as well.
Fill up 2 Notebooks
I buy too many notebooks to not finish any.
Make a spreadsheet for stats
I did this already. It's just about putting the books and ratings in once I finish them.
Read 10 books that are 600+ pages
I read a couple of very long books last year, so I just want to challenge myself to read as much as I can.
Get a bookshelf
Achieved this already. I went to Ikea and bought a nice bookcase.
